    Yummy in my Tummy

EDIT 2/28/10 : There’s vomit on the stairs now too. Almost stepped on it last night. Almost stepped on it again this morning. Don’t worry, I won’t take a picture of it.

    Hey guys!

Just wanted to share the surprise I found in the bathroom sink yesterday morning ;)

    mmmMMmmmmm

I didn’t think it was vomit till the smell hit me.

So who wants to visit me? I heard Sohee & Penny will be coming in April :) Oh, I found out that I got housing in one of the high rises next year so it’ll be like an apartment. That means there will be plentyyy of room for you guys to sleep when you come visit!

My spring break starts next Friday! I’ll be home by Sunday afternoon and my friend from Hawaii will be coming to NYC at one point! You should all have sushi with us one night! (I’m going to show her Brooklyn’s cheap DELICIOUS real sushi.) I’ll probably visit Stony on either Thursday or Friday if anyone’s interested.

I’m gonna go kill some time now that I’m done with midterms. Hope you’re all doing well.

    Snowed in.

    Hey guys
It’s Debbie here at Penn with Judy and Karen. They came to visit yesterday afternoon and we were supposed to leave today on Bolt at 2:30PM but NOPE. I got an email this morning saying our bus got cancelled. I called my dad and he said he’ll pick us up tomorrow or whenever the snow dies. Sigh, it’s going to be a while. It’ll be ridiculous if I end up going home Monday, aka a week after my last final. We toured around my campus yesterday and watched Jersey Shore haha. Today, we had brunch (yum) and went to Center City to shop for a little bit. We were planning on going to Pat’s and Geno’s for cheese steaks, but it was still snowing like crazy and we were tired. Now, we’re back in my room. Judy’s napping. Karen’s texting? We’re about to order chinese take out. It’s STILL snowing! What the hell??

    debbie sucks at inserting pictures.

    HEY GUYS!
I really have nothing significant to post about, but since I have midterms Tuesday and Wednesday, and since I was let out of class and work early today, OF COURSE I’m not going to take advantage of all this extra time I have to study; thus, I shall blog.

So not much has happened. Sure, Halloween has come and gone, but it seemed like a normal weekend to me, except with less clothes on people walking around. Kristina and Judy have visited me (Judy twice!) so that was really fun. I think you guys should follow their lead and come to Penn as well!

It’s 70 freakin degrees today… I love it, but it’s just weird since it was freezing last week and it’s November. Campus is really pretty though.

This is the ugly walk behind the Quad that leads me to the Nursing building. Relatively ugly, but still pretty.

The second time Judy visited, WongFu was here. I know they went to your areas/schools as well, but I’m still going to talk about them because I’m running out of stuff to mention haha. So this was a much smaller event than Tech’s. We got to the front of the Meet and Greet line pretty much immediately. They remembered Judy! Phil was like JUDY DIEP, I REMEMBER YOU! And I finally go to meet them and get a picture with them too :) We found out that they’re considering Tech as a location for the next ISA concert (Judy emailed Mr. Williams right after the event via my phone lol.)

    WongFu @ Penn!

Homecoming was last weekend, so it was like Alumni Homecoming Weekend at Tech. I got a free scarf that I absolutely LOVELOVELOVE. It brings me one step closer to Daniel Radcliffe LOL.

    Penn 2013 Scarf

    Penn 2013 Scarf

There was also a football game against our rival, Princeton. We won 42-7 beechesss! So after the 3rd quarter, we threw toast and left to pick up our free Homecoming t-shirts (which aren’t special enough for me to take a picture of.)

Football Game @ Homecoming. The stuff on the track is toast as per our tradition. The big football helmet thing is a vehicle that's like a zamboni that picks up all the toast, invented by our engineering students haha

Alright, that’s all I got for now. Make sure you all sign up on Judy’s doodle thing so we know when to do a Thanksgiving hang out :)

you and leah should come visit swarthmore (when something interesting happens). but yeah, i’m going to penn again this weekend LOLLL i dont know if i’ll be seeeing you though. and i really hope wong fu does choose tech. IT’D BE FREAKING AWESOME.

p.s. go study for your midterms!

    • tracy 7:35 pm on November 9, 2009 Permalink | Reply

that is not fair. how come wong fu didn’t come to nyit? (other then the fact that most our population won’t know them but still)

nice scarf. but why would you want to be closer to danial? sean biggerstaff is hotter (guy who played oliver wood)

miss you. two more weeks and you guys/girls will be home :)

    New Rules

    Hey guys,

I say this with the most sincerity ever, but our blog is a huge FAIL now. To resurrect it, I say we all post whenever something interesting happens or whenever we have an epiphany. The reason for this is because I’m sure interesting things happen to us, but we forget by the time we sit down and blog. So blog whenever you want, but just please be considerate (no double, triple posting.) If anyone objects to this, just leave a “FUCK YOU, DEBBIE” comment to this post.

    Let me start the fun:

I’ve had 2 major epiphanies since I’ve moved in. The first happened two weeks ago. I don’t remember the details, but my roommate found out that I wash my jeans every time I wear them. She was like “WTF, YOU’RE SO WEIRD!” So, I asked other people in my hall and I got around the same reaction from everyone… Result: Debbie wears her jeans twice before washing them now.

Epiphany #2 happened last night. I did laundry with a guy and a girl and the girl put her bras with mine in my mesh bag. I was wondering why she only put like 3 bras in my bag after a week of not doing laundry, so I asked my roommate. My roommate tells me that she washes her bra after wearing it a couple of times. I didn’t believe her, so I went around my hall asking girls if they did the same thing. They all gave me a “DUH” look and said they do the same thing as my roommate. I was so shocked. I walked back into my room with my jaw dropped and my roommate and our friend just kept calling me weird. I didn’t want to believe that I was the only one who did it, so I verified with other Brooklyners (Judy, Allison, and Sohee.) They failed me… Gave me the “wtf, you don’t do that?” reaction again. The only other girl I’ve been able to find that does the same thing as me is a girl from the Philippines, but it’s because it’s really hot there… Anyways, my life has been turned upside down. I finally understand why my laundry load is always larger than other people’s laundry even though they do it like once every two weeks and I do my laundry once a week. My super clean ways are depreciating the longer I stay here. OH, and since girls actually buy less bras than I thought, I understand how Victoria’s Secret stays in business now with their $60 bras.

Alright, I’m waiting for epiphany #3 and on. Have you guys had epiphanies? I mean, did you find out that the most simple and “normal” thing that you do isn’t so normal?

    • Judy 10:12 pm on October 9, 2009 Permalink | Reply

YEAH, I ALWAYS WASH ALL OF MY JEANS AFTER WEARING THEM ONCE! My roommate doesn’t. So now sometimes, I wear my favorite pair of jeans twice. My laundry load is still huge because I wash my sheets and towels every week :(

and i only did the bra thing this week because it was my favorite bra.

    • Debbie 10:13 pm on October 9, 2009 Permalink | Reply

YOU WASH YOUR SHEETS EVERY WEEK!?!

    • Allison 10:24 pm on October 9, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Whaaat, bras are expensive and they mess up if you wash it everyday even with the mesh bag.

i agree with the blog thing, if someone doesn’t update basically no one else can D:

    it’s always sunny in philadelphia

Hey guys. I’m just going to include interesting things that have happened here since my last post so hopefully, nobody will get bored…

Our RA made us get up at 4:15AM to eat breakfast in his room to fast for Ramada. It wasn’t bad actually, but the whole thing felt like a dream to me.

My hallmate got recruited into a secret fraternity. He went to their meeting (formal attire required) and he said they forced beer and cigs on them and made them sign a book. Weirddddd…

there was a 2am fire alarm one day. i thought it was my roommate’s alarm clock so naturally, i was pissed. she tried to turn it off but it didn’t work. she got up (i was thinking WTF IS SHE DOING) and went to the door and told me to get my shit. people were walking past our door and our RA was banging on our doors and yelling LOWER QUAD. walking outside felt like a dream. we were out on the grass for 20 minutes and eventually firefighters came with axes and we were let back in soon after. oh, several of my hall mates slept through it LOL

    i almost got sexiled.

I’ve been so disciplined here. I can’t remember the last time I studied so much so frequently. I love going to the libraries and lounges to work because my hall is usually loud 24/7 (BITCHES…) Speaking of loud, we have a view of the dumpsters and every morning at 9AM, a garbage truck comes by and picks up the dumpsters and drops them back on the ground REPEATEDLY. It’s such a horrible sound :( I really wish I was a heavy sleeper.

I got a workstudy job in the nursing building. The girls there said it’s a really laid back job with good pay so I’m very content :) I’m also signing up to do overnight hosting and ambassadoring for Penn. It’s like high school outreach day at Tech, but overnight too lol. I might do tourguiding over the summer if I decide to take classes here for a summer semester. I’d get paid for it :) I’m meeting with an advisor on Wednesday to discuss my future… I was planning on going back to NYC and getting my masters at Columbia, but my RA showed me the difference in cirriculum and Penn’s seems much better (aka easier). We’ll see… I might be a Global/Multicultural nursing minor though :)

Oh, and I got sick from the flu shot. WTF.

the water here sucks! thank god my roommate’s parents came and brought us 2 cases (NJ-ers calls them “flats”) of water.

i think i want to marry the guy next door LOL <3

here are some pictures. more are on my fb but they’re about the same:

My room with my roommate on her bed. I did not make my bed but I do almost everyday!

omg squirrels here are CRAZY!! they're not scared of humans at all. they wait for the light before crossing the street, they dart out of bushes and cut you off, they sneak up next to you when you're eating on a bench or on the grass, and they jump into windows of dorms on the first floor...

OMG, it is so pretty, if that’s the view from your room, it’s gorgeous! and I agree about the squirrels thing, they do not understand the concept of personal space. One almost cut me off when I was walking and then it saw me and ran in the other direction.

BTW your 2am fire alarm story, when I was reading it, I was like omg this sounds so familiar, (almost like mine) till the end anyway haha.

The Penn Life (…while it’s still fun.)

    HELLOOOO THERE EYEOFTHETIGERS!

So… left at 9am, got to Penn at 11am, DID NOT START UNLOADING UNTIL 12 because there was a huge line to get into the Quad move-in area. But yeah, unloading would’ve been embarrassing since my mom was trying to cut the line to get INTO the quad (all visitors need a pass. She didn’t believe in passes) but it wasn’t as embarrassing as I imagined because every other parent was embarrassing too.

My room is RIGHT in front of the stairs so we hear/see everyone that comes up or leaves lol. Not sure if that’s a good thing. The room is a lot bigger than I expected. The view isn’t great but I still love this room :) I live on the 3rd floor but I ended up on the 4th floor because the building is stupid and the 1st floor is actually the basement. It was quite embarrassing having to walk back down the stairs and run into my roomie and her mom (twice) while carrying comforters and a mattress pad. Esther (my cousin driving the other car) got sent to another building because she pissed the cop off so he g’d her by sending her elsewhere. We waited for her car to get to the quad, unloaded, unpacked a little, and went to a cart to buy philly cheesesteaks (soooooo good omg… they put white sauce on it!!) So yeah, me and my entourage of 7 were just standing next to a cart in front of the quad eating cheese steaks (mmMMMmm). Went back to my room, unpacked shit out of 2 plastic containers so my parents could take them away. My family left at 2ish and I unpacked for an hour before my roomie and her family got back from lunch. I did not cry (HA, Wingkai!) No one cried.

I unpacked for a little more before me and my roommate explored Ware (my college house) for a bit. Found the laundry room (free!), house gym (sucks), and lounge (ben&jerrys ice cream in the fridge yo). We then went to have dinner with our hall, went to a house meeting, went to a hall meeting and then got back to our room. Got ready to go out to parties (invites have been slipped under our door throughout the day. One was just delivered as I was typing this…) with 2 other girls and then we left at 11ish? Walked down to the frat houses and walked in the first one we saw. It was “jungle themed” and it sucked (WET grass rugs on the dance floor and way too many guys present.) We left and went to another one down the street and it was a lot better. Alcohol is too easy to attain… we just grabbed a beer and went to the back (soooo crowded. Never felt so damn short in my life) where there was like a porch and a bunch of couches. We ran into people from our hall so we just stuck with them. Sophomores looking for freshmeat are crazy but entertaining. Being a girl has so many perks. Nobody remembers anybody’s names lol. I remember names now, but not faces to match which is just as useless. My roommate got kind of drunk so after some drinking and dancing for like 15 min (she nosebled…) we left. When we were stumbling back to our room with 2 other guys from our hall, she was like (with her arm around me) “DEBBIE, YOU’RE THE BEST ROOMMATE EVER! YOU’RE MY BEST FRIEND HERE” lolol. Got back at like 1:30? My RA came in and talked to us for a bit and informed us that the jungle themed party was hosted by the frat that was kicked off campus for rape (wtf?) So yeah, didn’t sleep too well and only got 4 hours of sleep.

It’s 9:45am. I just had breakfast, showered (showerheads are soooooo weak. Fuck the Green Penn effort). I gotta head over to the nursing building at 11 for nursing events until like 4 tonight.

So that’s my move-in and orientation so far! I won’t bore you guys any longer and we can continue/start the posting rotation.

Oh wait! The food and guys! How could I forget?

Food: Breakfast- decent. I had pancake, eggs, sausages, potatoes (yes, there’s a waffle maker).

Dinner- Eww… I got baked ziti and they give you very little but it was cold anyways (maybe cause it was the last of that pan). Didn’t try the pizza. Salad was aight but really, I wasn’t impressed (and my standards for food are pretty low…) No pics yet (kinda weird). I’m having thai food tonight with my roommate and some other people so that should be good.

Boys- Hot/Cute. White. TALL (most of them). Every guy in my hall is white (except for this one brown guy) and they’re all cute. My neighbors are 2 football recruits. Kind of met one of them awkwardly cause I said hi while he was in his room with his shirt off (his door was open). Btw, the girls are exactly the same lol. And there are soo many jocks on my floor (including the girls), making me feel quite inadequate.

Damn, long post. My bad. Enjoy, guys!
