    Pieces of Home…-Lisa

Hey! Sorry for not keeping with the posting cycle. I usually have a lot of things to say, but when it comes to my turn to post, I lose my thoughts.

Anyways, this weekend was I guess a fun one, kind of. Thursday, we went to this haunted house thing called Witches Woods, which was fun, kind of. There was this hay ride thing, which took us into the woods, and jesus, that was scary. Some guy chainsawed my foot, but its okay guys, my leg is still here. The highlight was that we got to eat Wendys! The dollar menu actually exists in MA so I took advantage of that.

I have like no memory of Friday. I don’t know why. I just remember going to this yogurt place called Truly Yogurt, which was pretty good, but not the type of froyo I’m use to. I miss my tart froyo soo much! Saturday was an uneventful day, but we did have mooncake cause it was the Lunar Harvest Festival! It was awesome actually, cause it was Homecoming, so the food was exceptional and I stole a spiffy mug from the table. They were giving out GOOD, BRAND NAMED ice cream, but I didn’t get any. There was also this choo choo train floating around campus, which I got to ride and it was absolutely awesome! I was with my friend and I was hysterical on that train while everyone else was looking at us. We made dumplings in my room cause I have a rice cooker! I also bought lo mein for freaking 10 dollars! It was ridiculous! I could get it at a take out place for like 5 bucks! Saturday was funny cause again, as the party observers, we see the aftermath of what happens to people who get intoxicated, and it was pretty funny. I’m sworn to secrecy, but it was funny.

Sunday was a good night cause Wingkai came back from New York and he brought so much asian food, I almost lost my mind. He also bought ridiculous amounts of mooncake back. I’m starving just thinking about it. I tried out for a solo for my acapella group, but screwed up so badly. I got to a high part and choked. Oh well, it was comical.

And ultimately, I love my iphone. As many of you may have seen on my facebook status, I flushed my iphone down the toilet. Not only did it not go down the toilet cause its width, it still works. Perfectly. Now, you might think I’m holding some pee infested thing to my face when I talk to you guys, but nope. Somebody forgot to flush and while I was flushing, my phone slipped out of my pocket and went in the toilet. I screamed and without thinking, stuck my hand down the toilet (this was when the pee was all gone, I swear). So afterward, I dried it off and it was acting weird, but after a while, it was fine. I used Lysol on my phone so its okay! And now I can MMS cause of my update so be expecting random (but appropriate!) pictures of my life.

On the side note, we have a superstar in our school by the initials of YK. I LOVE HIM! HAHA

And there’s this pretty boy, who definitely needs to wear something underneath his cardigans, cause he leaves his barenaked chest out there, all waxed and smooth. It’s dangerous.

And today, I found a large bug in my room. I thought it was a crab, my friend thought it was a frog, but it was a spider. NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE!

    And I Think I’m Going To Boston…-Lisa

onHappy Labor Day! It’s been a little over a week since I’ve been here and I’m slowly starting to adjust. Excuse my writing for some of it may not make sense because I’ve managed to get sick within the first week of school. Yay!

Anyways, I was able to spend my Labor Day with some of the most amazing people ever! Well, first off, us Asian Babsoners took the commuter rail into Boston (for free) and had some Boston Dim Sum. The moment I stepped into the city, I felt my immune system go up and as Penny said, “The boogers in my nose disappear.” I guess I’m just so use to air that has been polluted endlessly with carbon monoxide. After Dim Sum, Penny and I met up with our favorite Northeastern girls aka Stella Lu, Sufei Zhao, and Christina Zheng. After some unproductive shopping, we went back to Chinatown where Stella and Christina ate Malaysian food. Penny and I had to catch the commuter rail back (this time, it cost money :[), so Penny bought a Hou Lam Gai Fan (Haianese Chicken?? With rice) and that was seriously the best thing I’ve eaten in a long time. We went to the supermarket to stock up on some Asian delights, which cost way too much in Boston. Gosh, if I didn’t love Vitasoy that much, I wouldn’t have paid 3.49 for it! THAT IS RIGHT! 3.49!!! It’s outrageous! We bought a lot so Thank God for our friend Anne to drive us back to Babson from the Wellesley Hills station.

So that was my Labor Day. And for my highlights of the week, I did have a nice four day weekend. And so, Saturday was Babson’s first Knight Party (it’s a school hosted party with free drinks, free beer for those who are over 21). Penny and I were too lazy to go, but the aftermath was pretty funny. So, a couch got thrown out of one of the frats and the other frat had a flood because someone was probably smoking weed and set the fire alarms/sprinklers off. This called for an ambulance and a fire truck. So, this guy who lives on the second floor got sexiled (a lot of people are getting sexiled recently). So, after he saw what happened, he took his banana bread and walks into Penny’s room looking completely traumatized. So we got to see his room, which cause his trauma (sorry, I didn’t take a picture, but I so wish I did). The pole of his floor lamp was cracked and his bookcase was completely destroyed. The world is that his roommate did someone chubby, but apparently, it was a whale. People were throwing up everywhere and walking ridiculously funny, so if anyone is interested in having a good time, come to a Babson party!

So here are random pictures I just took because I just felt like it.

photo2I like to steal fruits and ice cream and stash them in my room.photo3These lights remind me of hospital lights, since it is rumored that our residential hall is haunted.

    BABbling a lot SON! -Lisa

Bonjour from the campus of Babson College!  It’s been raining and freezing for the past few days, but hopefully, we’ll see a change. There’s a harbour cruise thing tomorrow that we get dressed up for and I don’t want to dress up if it’s this cold. (PICTURES TO COME SOON)

    DAY 1

So, I arrived at Babson at around 9 AM, greeted by a BUNCH of loud and hyper upperclassmen. I thought my car was being under attacked! I got all my keys and stuff set up fairly quickly, including this laptop I am currently typing on. So we proceeded to move-in and the moment my dad parks the car and opens the trunk, a team of hot upperclassmen surround my car and offer to take my stuff. My dad was hesitant, but I guess their supervisor/staff person was like “They’re here to help. We want to get you out of here as fast as possible”, so they got all my boxes and literally moved everything in 30 seconds. I will emphasize the amount of cute boys there are here later. So my dorm room is amazing! It is really nicely decorated, thanks to my roommate, and of a really nice size (this is where Penny starts complaining about how she lives in a dungeon). There will be pictures posted up later as soon as I take them in the morning, since my roommate will leave early due to field hockey practice. And yes, my neighbors, are ASIAN!

So my parents drove us to Wal-Mart (it’s so cheap, I want to barf) and back for us to have lunch. Penny and I had to eat quick cause we had to meet with our orientation group (the food was soooooo bad), so I left my mom and dad at the dining hall. Surprising, but I was not going to cry, cause I just didn’t feel sad. So I hugged my mom and then my dad and my dad just had to point out that my mom was crying. I looked at her and then I started crying too. Thinking about this makes me want to cry right now. I’ve never been away from home and I’m surprised I’ve been able to without for two days without being incredibly home sick. But that was definitely one of the worst moments in my life, seeing my mom cry, despite all the fights we’ve been having about college lately. By the way, she calls me like 4 times a day…

Anywho, so with our orientation groups, we did ice breakers. There was this awkward one, ride the pony, where you basically crunk and booty pop in front of a person. We also did WAH! which was like that korean game Bunny Bunny. Then were was this celebration thing with random speakers, which Penny skipped. It was boring, not going to lie. Then we had this barbeque thing (finally, MEAT!) which was pretty nice until it rained. I met my RA, who is really lenient, so that’s awesome. Then there was the Playfair, which people made it sound really awesome and scary. It was basically 1 1/2 hours of embarrassment for all of us. We had to play these games where we would meet people really quickly, but honestly, I don’t remember anyone from Playfair. After that, we went to the Pub, which was suppose to be awesome, but it wasn’t cause it was raining.

    DAY 2

So we started the day off with breakfast with our orientation groups, which I missed out on cause I forgot to turn my alarm clock on. Thank God Penny called me. After that, we had a speaker thing, where we talked about diversty at Babson and we had this guest speaker, Maura J. Cullen (I wonder if she’s related to Edward Cullen) and she was a surprisingly interesting speaking (cried a bit during her presentation). After that we had lunch, which I ate a lot. Then we basically had two classes about academics and our laptops. I was hungry after that, so I found the Dunkin Donuts on my campus, which is A LOT pricier than New York. A coolatta is 2.59 opposed to 1.99 in New York City! Good thing I paid for it with my campus dolllars. After that, we had Chowdahfest, which I swear, the Clam Chowder came out of a can. Penny found the chopsticks at the Dining Hall and Wingkai might have diarrhea cause he ate a fortune cookie covered in Sirracha. Then we had this Adult Circus thing, where the guy was from BROOKLYN! He was soooooo funny, I leaned forward too much and actually fell out of my chair. Wingkai was his assistant, so when he asked for Wingkai’s name, he was like, “Whats your name?” and Wingkai was like, “Wing”, and hes like, “Wing..like a chicken wing?” cause apparently thats what everyone knows Wingkai for, Chicken Wings. That was fun, but after that, it was pretty dull. We tried to fix the TV in Penny’s room and since I’m suppose to be “tech suavy”, I tried and I couldn’t do it. So we went to the second hall and screamed after a bunch of guys to help us fix the tv (They were sooo cute.) So later, us girls were playing truth or dare in my room and we made Penny write her name, room number, and phone on a post it and we stuck it on their wall. Yeah, they came knocking for Penny Phoon! There were frat parties, but we didn’t go. So now I’m lying on my bed in a school of ridiculously cute white guys! I’m going to finish up cause Wingkai wants to write so Ciao from Babson College! Sorry about the long and boring post!
